Welcome to the Games and Beyond
Next summer, the world is coming to London to take part in the planet’s biggest sporting festival.
For some, dreams will be realised as years of training pay off with podium places or personal bests.
Others will have to come to terms with missing out on glory by the narrowest of margins – a split second, a slight wobble, a toe over the line.
For many, the opportunity to simply be part of something as monumental, exciting and spectacular as the London 2012 Olympic Games will be enough.
For all it will be an experience they will never, ever forget.
The Games and Beyond website has been produced by Sport England, supported by the London 2012 Organising Committee to help you get the most out of the Olympic Games, no matter where in the UK you live.
Whatever sports you plan to watch – whether you’re a lucky ticketholder, are planning to watch the events at one of 22 Live Sites across the UK, or from your own home – this website will help you prepare for your Olympic experience.

Sport provides some of the greatest unscripted drama you will ever see. Discover the stories behind the sports on show and the athletes competing for medals. Who is in with a shot? What should you be watching out for? And what dramas are likely to unfold next summer?
