profile

David Florence and Richard Hounslow have only been paddling together since 2009, but they’ve already set their sights on a podium position in London.

In their first year together, they finished in the top ten at both the World and European Championships and collected bronze and silver in the respective C2 team events. In 2010, they went on to win world and european bronze medals.

Then, in 2011, they won a bronze medal at the World Cup in Prague. The pair just missed out on a world championship medal, finishing fourth in Bratislava, but helped Great Britain to a brilliant team bronze in the process.

Their achievements are even more impressive when you consider they both also race in individual classes: David in men’s C1 and Richard in men’s K1.
